CelebrateThe Wedding of Mr and Mrs Godbold

We were delighted to receive this fantastic review following the wedding day of Rebecca and David with us in September 2019.

Choosing Park Farm Hotel as our venue to get married wasn’t difficult for us. It had everything we wanted, and from our first meeting with Events Manager, Sue, in July 2018 we knew our big day would be in safe hands. During our time planning no request was too big, or a question too silly and everything we asked for was accommodated.

Fast forward to September 2019, and we met with Sue three days before our wedding to run through the final pieces and firm everything up for the day, and at that time we handed all of our room decorations and requests for setting up the rooms to the team. Walking out of the Hotel after that meeting, it was as if a huge weight had been lifted from our shoulders; we knew we could enjoy our final few days with family who had travelled far and wide without any worries.

We had a lot of family members staying at Park Farm Hotel, both the night before and the night of the wedding, and we requested to all eat in the Bar as a group the night before; the staff kindly gave us use of a private room to dine in, which was a lovely touch and gave us the opportunity to be together without worrying about interrupting other Hotel guests.

The day of our wedding came and, despite us experiencing every weather season possible in a space of a few hours, meaning we couldn’t mingle outside with our guests during our arrival drinks reception, it was absolutely perfect! Everything we asked for was catered for, including dietary requirements for allergies and children, and certain room decorations to be placed in certain places. We could not fault a thing. It meant we were both very relaxed and able to soak in how perfectly everything we had planned had come together.

Our wedding breakfast was Afternoon Tea, which we requested so our guests could be relaxed at the tables instead of potentially feeling rushed onto the next course of food. The selection on the afternoon tea stands were great, all fresh and very well presented. Everyone commented how lovely it was.

Sue and her team did a brilliant job of ensuring everyone was in the right places at the right times, and took on the role of ‘compere’ with total ease, again meaning we didn’t need to worry about a thing!

Luckily for us, the weather improved and we were able to go outside for some newlywed photographs. We had forgotten, from our first visit, how amazing the grounds of the Hotel were and our Photographer took us to some lovely locations and captured some beautiful photos for us.

For our evening reception, we chose resident DJ, Craig Royale, who we communicated with over email with our music requests, and we are pleased that he did exactly as we asked for – ensure people are dancing at all times!!! The hot buffet food we had chosen was very well received by our evening guests, with not one item being left on the trays!

The two of us were lucky enough to be able to stay at Park Farm Hotel for an extra day and night following the wedding, which gave us a chance to relax in the pool/spa area and have an evening meal in the Hotel’s Seasons Restaurant. The food in the Restaurant was to die for, and we thought waiting in the hotel bar with a drink whilst our meal was being prepared, before being seated in the restaurant, was a very nice touch, it made the start to our evening more relaxed.

So many of our guests have told us that they had the best time celebrating with us, and we know that is all down to the hotel staff. They know how to put together a wedding!

We are so pleased the memories we have of our big day include the beautiful Park Farm Hotel, their grounds, and their amazing staff!

What Our Customers Say

“My husband and I don’t get to go away just the 2 of us very often so I always try and find someone nice when we do have the opportunity. This place didn’t disappoint! The receptionist was friendly and my husband commented to me that she seemed happy to be there and like she really enjoyed her job which must be a good testament to the place! We were upgraded to a boutique suite which was a pleasant surprise and the suite we had was perfect. As soon as we opened the door the smell was lovely and the 2 complimentary bars of local chocolate was a lovely touch as was the complimentary wash bag. We made use of the leisure facilities and stayed relaxing for about 2.5 hours. The bed was very comfortable and the room stayed dark during the night. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of options. We definitely hope to return one day.”
